The move follows the company’s announcement that it has successfully closed its first $2 million investment round, which it raised from Nuwa Capital, Hambro Perks Oryx Fund, and other investors.

Sharwa, which was established in early 2022, aims to provide appropriate prices to its customers in light of the global inflation wave that is sweeping the world, and to provide the best prices in the markets, as Egypt is the first station of the platform and then expansions will follow in the Middle East.

The volume of retail trade inside Egypt is about $55 billion annually, of which less than $3 billion is done online, although there are more than 50 million Egyptian users of social media, which highlights the large gap between the number of users and the volume of e-commerce, which prompted the founders of The company, namely: Alaa Shalaby, Hassan Elshourbagi, and Mohamed Hanafy, to take advantage of their long experience in order to bridge that gap through the Sharwa platform.

Sharwa offers its customers the best prices for all their household needs, from (grocery, appliances and household tools), and it includes nearly 1000 products, and customers can buy their needs through two different prices, the first price is the price of the individual customer, and the other price is given with big discounts of up to 40% obtained after sending a bulk order through WhatsApp or using the Sharwa app, and the order is delivered the next day directly.

For his part, Alaa Shalaby, founder and CEO of Sharwa, expressed his happiness at launching the application in record time and a few days after the launch of the platform, which succeeded in reaching tens of thousands of users, pointing out that the application is currently available through the Google Play Store, and it will be available soon on other app stores.

Shalaby said: “Sharwa’s platform is the true translation of the idea of the sharing economy, as the reality now requires everyone to search for the easiest and cheapest way to get the needs of their home, which can be achieved through the shared online shopping experience offered by our platform”.

In a related context, Hassan Elshourbagi, co-founder and director of operations at “Sharwa” company, confirmed that the company is now working on implementing the expansion plan in various governorates of Egypt, after it started in Cairo. In the case of group purchases, the matter is easy and simple and can be completed in one step through the application, where the user selects his purchases and then sends the link via WhatsApp to another person of his friends to add his purchases as well, and once this step is completed, the group will receive great discounts.

It is worth noting that the founders of the “Sharwa” platform succeeded before that in leading the operations of a group of Startups companies that have become one of the largest companies in their field, as Alaa Shalaby led Kitopi and Careem to achieve great leaps through his work as a strategic analyst for market expansions for 5 years, Hassan Elshourbagi also worked in the operations management of Halan, Careem and Capiter, while Mohamed Hanafi led the technical team at Careem and the Hunger Station owned by Delivery Hero.
