Dr. Islam Nasrallah, Chairman of the Mega Trust Group, issued an official statement affirming the company’s resolute stance on the ongoing events in Gaza
He emphasized the company’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and announced practical steps to translate this solidarity into actionable measures
Opening his statement with the Quranic verse, “And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned” (As-Saffat: 24), Dr. Nasrallah called on everyone to uphold their humanitarian responsibilities in light of the innocent lives lost and the oppression in Gaza
Decisive Action: Ending Collaborations with Entities Supporting the Occupying Power
Mega Trust Group has decided to suspend all sponsored advertisements on foreign platforms that directly or indirectly support the Israeli occupation. This includes platforms engaging in media suppression, such as omitting the name “Gaza,” or those indirectly supporting the occupation through purchases and advertisements
Dr. Nasrallah clarified that this decision extends beyond Mega Trust Group to encompass all partner companies, brands, and representatives of the group across its operational markets. He stressed, “Humanity cannot be weighed against material gains.”
He continued, “We acknowledge that these advertisements were a critical driver of our revenue growth. However, we cannot allow our profits to come at the expense of innocent lives. Our very existence is meaningless if it contributes to the death of even one child.”
Redirecting Investments to Egypt’s Development
Reflecting the group’s commitment to empowering Egyptian youth and fostering innovation, Dr. Nasrallah announced that the funds previously allocated to advertising on these platforms would now be redirected toward supporting local talents, creating jobs, and launching innovative technological projects to serve the local community.
He explained, “We intend to channel these significant investments into initiatives that benefit Egyptian youth, including launching new applications and technological ideas such as the TaskedIn app, which exemplifies how technology can enhance productivity while nurturing local talent.”
A Call to Action for Egyptian Investors
Dr. Nasrallah urged Egyptian business leaders to direct their investments and efforts toward strengthening the nation’s economy and avoiding support for products or plans that threaten its stability.
He declared, “As a nation, we possess the ability to safeguard our country and confront these challenges better than any external entity or authority. Our awareness and understanding of the circumstances are our primary tools in combating conspiracies targeting our wealth, homeland, and identity.”
Dr. Nasrallah highlighted the success of Egyptian-made products in competing globally, even in sectors such as soft drinks, adding, “We are capable of delivering innovative solutions and high-quality products, as demonstrated by TaskedIn, which underscores our potential for creativity and competitiveness.”
He concluded, “I extend my gratitude to everyone who has placed their trust in local products and believes in our nation’s ability to evolve and thrive. While the journey may be arduous initially, I am confident that our efforts will yield prosperity and a brighter future for our country. Together, we can bring about the change we seek and build a future that reflects our ambitions and capabilities.”
Supporting Employees and Encouraging Innovation
Dr. Nasrallah reassured Mega Trust employees in digital advertising and marketing roles that the decision would not affect their livelihoods. He stated, “This decision is rooted in humanitarian principles, and we are committed to ensuring that our employees and their families are not impacted. Our true capital lies in our values and principles.”
He also encouraged innovation in marketing strategies, urging everyone to devise new methods that do not rely on platforms benefiting those who oppose humanity. “If you have alternative ideas for marketing our products, even if they require double the effort and cost, let’s pursue them. Values and principles are priceless,” he said.
Dr. Nasrallah closed his statement with a powerful message: “Boycotting is not an option; it is a national and moral duty. We will continue to stand with justice and humanity and move forward to achieve success without compromising our principles.”
It is worth noting that Mega Trust Group’s annual spending on Facebook ads exceeds $2 million. However, the management reaffirmed its full commitment to this decision, emphasizing that the real challenge lies in investing within Egypt to support the local economy.
