In a significant step toward building Egypt’s digital future, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI) celebrated 100 outstanding students from the first phase of the upgraded Summer Training Program. The initiative aims to equip 10,000 university students nationwide with the latest digital skills, preparing them to meet the growing demands of the ICT sector

Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, congratulated the honored students, describing them as the driving force of Egypt’s technology ecosystem. He emphasized that the success of these students reflects the ambition of a new generation ready to shape a competitive digital economy. “Investing in young talent is at the heart of Egypt’s digital transformation strategy, attracting global tech companies looking to expand in the region,” he said
The program offers inclusive training opportunities for students across all governorates, covering software development, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, and digital arts. Training combines technical skills, freelancing know-how, and personal development, ensuring graduates are job-ready and competitive both locally and internationally

Dr. Ahmed Khattab, NTI Director, highlighted that this year’s edition provides more flexibility, enabling students to specialize in technical areas or gain multidisciplinary exposure. He added that over 1,400 students earned international digital badges from NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Institute after completing the Getting Started with Deep Learning course
The celebration also recognized students who obtained Huawei’s HCCDA-Tech Essentials certification in cloud computing and included a guided tour of Smart Village, where students visited offices of VOIS, BrightSkies, and SITECH Solutions to explore real workplace settings. The event featured interactive sessions on personal development and career planning
Eng. Mahmoud Sofrata, ITIDA Vice President, stressed the agency’s commitment to nationwide access, noting that women represented about 40% of participants this year, with initiatives underway to increase female participation in future rounds. Additional grants were offered for language courses, ERP systems, and advanced technical training through ITIDA’s SECC
Since its launch in June, the program has trained 6,125 students: 2,220 in Greater Cairo, 2,785 in Delta & Northern Egypt, 905 in Upper Egypt, and 215 in the Canal region. Around 4,000 more students are currently undergoing training via hybrid delivery models—either at Digital Egypt Innovation Hubs (CREATIVA) or online—ensuring equitable access nationwide
This program forms a cornerstone of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) strategy to build a digitally skilled workforce, strengthen Egypt’s talent pipeline, and position the country as a regional and global hub for ICT services and offshoring
