. Lafarge Egypt’s Training Programs Open New Career Paths for Egyptian Youth

Lafarge Egypt, a member of the Holcim Group and a leading provider of innovative and sustainable building materials, celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of its flagship programs, “Step-In” and “Grow”. These initiatives aim to empower Egyptian youth with hands-on skills, real-world experience, and professional mentorship, enabling them to enter the job market with confidence.
Since their launch in 2023, the programs have supported 95 young talents, including 79 participants in the Grow program and 16 in Step-In, with 27 more expected to graduate from the second Grow cohort. To date, 28 graduates have joined Lafarge Egypt, while others secured positions at leading international organizations, reflecting the programs’ significant role in preparing young professionals for both local and global markets.
The Grow Program, which spans a full year, focuses on developing fresh graduates across Egypt in fields such as engineering, business administration, human resources, sales, supply chain, and finance. Participants gain hands-on experience by contributing to projects from planning to execution, while also receiving regular mentorship from Holcim experts, giving them valuable international exposure. Candidates are selected through a nationwide group interview process to ensure the recruitment of top talent.
Meanwhile, the Step-In Program, developed in collaboration with the German International University (GIU), targets final-year students and offers a six-month paid internship at Lafarge Egypt. Students actively participate in impactful projects under professional guidance, gaining practical experience that complements their academic studies. Upon graduation, participants receive both their university degree and industry-based training, equipping them with the skills and confidence to smoothly transition into the workforce. Lafarge Egypt is currently expanding Step-In to more universities nationwide, making it a pioneering initiative for bridging academia and industry.
By strengthening its collaborations with leading universities in Egypt and abroad, Lafarge Egypt continues to invest in developing the next generation of industry leaders. The company’s initiatives focus on three key pillars: youth empowerment and community development, promoting sustainability through eco-friendly projects, and driving innovation and digital transformation in the construction sector. These efforts align with Egypt Vision 2030, reinforcing Lafarge Egypt’s role as a partner in building a sustainable and future-ready economy
