As part of its continuous commitment to supporting digital innovation and interactive education for youth, Infinix, the leading smartphone brand, organized a specialized educational workshop under the UNESCO STEM Education Project, in collaboration with Google
The workshop was hosted at the Canadian International College (CIC) in Cairo, with active participation from its students.
The initiative was part of the CogLabs project, supported by UNESCO and Google, aiming to empower students to explore artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics through modern, hands-on applications.
Hands-On Learning with Smart Tools
During the workshop, students had the unique opportunity to build E3bot educational robots using Infinix smartphones and 3D-printed parts. The program followed a three-step approach: building, training, and programming. Students assembled the robots with simple components powered by Infinix devices, trained them to recognize images and sounds using Google’s Teachable Machine, and programmed them to perform interactive tasks through accessible educational software.
Commitment to Future-Ready Education
Professor Khaled El-Kady, President of CIC, expressed his pride in hosting the event, emphasizing the importance of moving beyond traditional classrooms by offering students direct engagement with technologies shaping the future. He stressed that such initiatives prepare a new generation capable of innovation and global competitiveness.
Infinix’s Vision: Empowering Youth
An Infinix Egypt spokesperson explained that the initiative aligns with the company’s strategy to support digital learning and empower youth with practical tools for creativity. He highlighted how smartphones can act as powerful educational tools, opening new opportunities for students in Egypt and beyond.
UNESCO STEM Project: Breaking Barriers
The UNESCO STEM Education Project, active in over 30 countries, addresses challenges in hands-on tech education—such as high equipment costs and limited lab access—by offering innovative, affordable solutions. These include repurposed smartphones, low-cost 3D-printed parts, and open-source software. The project also promotes sustainability by reducing costs and narrowing the digital divide.
Egypt as a Regional Hub for Innovation
Hosting this workshop at CIC highlights Egypt’s growing role as a regional hub for technology-driven education. With support from global leaders like Infinix, Egyptian universities are better positioned to provide students with high-quality, future-oriented learning experiences.
Infinix confirmed that this is only the beginning of its educational initiatives in Egypt, with plans to expand partnerships with universities to empower young innovators and entrepreneurs—fully aligned with its brand slogan “GET in now.”
