World Egypt has successfully managed the unloading and transportation of a massive ammonia converter measuring 30 meters in length and weighing over 500 tons at Sokhna Port, further solidifying the port’s status as a premier logistics hub on the Red Sea.

This milestone operation reflects Sokhna Port’s growing capacity to handle highly complex, oversized cargo, reinforcing its strategic role in supporting Egypt’s trade, industrial growth, and its position as a key gateway to global markets.

The shipment was handled in coordination with Dominion Shipping Agencies (Egypt) and EWA Group, with all parties working proactively to prepare a secure, efficient transport route ahead of the vessel’s arrival. The cargo was transferred directly and without disruption, highlighting the port’s operational excellence.

Mohammad Shihab, Chief Executive Officer of DP World Egypt, commented:

> “The successful handling of this oversized shipment demonstrates Sokhna Port’s capacity as an integrated logistics platform, capable of managing some of the most complex cargo in terms of weight and dimensions. At DP World, we are committed to supporting Egypt’s economy by facilitating trade and industry, while strengthening Sokhna’s position as the primary gateway to the Red Sea.”

This operation also emphasizes Sokhna Port’s crucial role in serving the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). By efficiently managing heavy lift cargo, DP World enhances supply chain reliability, supports local manufacturing, and contributes to Egypt’s economic competitiveness on a regional and global scale.
