Egypt’s Planning Minister Reviews Annual Plan, Prioritizes Public Investment Efficiency

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, held his first official meeting with the Ministry’s senior leadership after taking the constitutional oath before H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi

The meeting focused on reviewing progress on the annual plan and medium-term framework in line with the Unified Planning Law, ensuring alignment with presidential directives and the priorities of the newly formed government

Dr. Rostom emphasized maintaining efficient operations, accelerating implementation rates, and strengthening coordination across ministries to maximize the developmental return on public investments. He highlighted the importance of governance, objective project selection, and continuous monitoring to enhance fiscal sustainability and economic competitiveness

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to citizen-centered development, including improving quality of life, expanding social protection, advancing the Hayah Karima initiative, and accelerating the rollout of the Comprehensive Health Insurance System, in coordination with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly
