Global cybersecurity leader Kaspersky has announced the release of a new update to its Cloud Workload Security (CWS) solution, designed to strengthen protection for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The upgrade responds to the growing complexity of cloud infrastructures by delivering broader visibility, stronger container runtime defense, and a more flexible, cost-efficient approach to workload security
A joint research study conducted by Kaspersky and ISG revealed that 60% of organizations consider monitoring and preventing runtime misconfigurations among their top five challenges in cloud security. The new update aims to help enterprises stay ahead of evolving cyberthreats through a range of advanced capabilities, including:Node OS vulnerability scanning and file threat protection, extending runtime protection to both nodes and orchestrators
Enhanced operational transparency with detailed logging of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) changes
Faster incident response enabled by WebHooks, allowing seamless data sharing with any compatible software
Broader platform support, including Microsoft Azure Registry and Google Cloud Platform Kubernetes & Registry
Additionally, the update expands security policies (Assurance, Runtime, Response) for higher detection rates and greater flexibility, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements
The enhancements also include improvements to the Light Agent in Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security, now leveraging the latest versions of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (12.10) and Linux (12.3). This strengthens integration and protection for hybrid environments, reducing blind spots and operational risks
Commenting on the release, Anton Rusakov-Rudenko, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Cloud & Network Security Product Line at Kaspersky, said:”With the latest updates to Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security, we are pushing the boundaries of cloud protection, giving our customers the most comprehensive and resilient security available. Our mission is to empower businesses to fully embrace the cloud without compromising on safety, compliance, or performance
By combining advanced automation with contextual intelligence, the enhanced CWS solution addresses common challenges such as cloud security blind spots, increasing infrastructure costs, and regulatory compliance pressures—helping enterprises achieve resilience while meeting both business and compliance goals
