Senior executives from LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Energy Solution, and LG Innotek met with Mercedes-Benz AG to explore deeper collaboration under LG’s unified “One LG Solution” strategy, aiming to accelerate innovation in next-generation mobility technologies.

The meeting, held on November 13 at LG Twin Towers in Seoul, coincided with the visit of Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of Mercedes-Benz AG. Joining the discussions were William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics; Jeong Cheol-dong, CEO of LG Display; Kim Dong-myung, CEO of LG Energy Solution; Moon Hyuk-soo, CEO of LG Innotek; and Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, along with senior leadership teams from both sides.

Driving the Future of Mobility

The talks focused on strengthening cooperation to support Mercedes-Benz’s long-term mobility vision, particularly the global shift toward electric vehicles (EVs), digital transformation, and automated production ecosystems.

In alignment with this vision, LG companies presented next-generation technologies across key automotive domains—including EV components, advanced battery solutions, OLED displays, and autonomous driving sensors—seeking deeper integration within the One LG Solution framework.

Established Collaboration Across Mobility Technologies

The partnership between LG and Mercedes-Benz already spans several critical areas:

LG Electronics collaborates with Mercedes-Benz on software-defined vehicle (SDV) platforms, including in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Their joint work includes the OLED-based curved panoramic IVI system for the Mercedes-Benz EQS.

LG Display has supplied Plastic OLED (P-OLED) panels to Mercedes-Benz since 2020, enabling high-quality, curved displays that power the brand’s next-generation MBUX Hyperscreen.

LG Energy Solution continues its long-term partnership with Mercedes-Benz in EV battery development and supply.

LG Innotek is expanding discussions related to autonomous driving sensors, including advanced camera modules, LiDAR, and radar systems.

Leadership Statements

“At Mercedes-Benz, we firmly believe that bold, collaborative partnerships are the driving force shaping our next-generation vehicles,” said Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz AG. “Together with LG, we share a vision built on innovation, quality and sustainability—setting new global standards for the future of mobility.”

“We will further solidify our strategic partnership with Mercedes-Benz by leveraging our core competencies in the vehicle components business—from user experience-driven value propositions to our integrated SDV solution portfolio,” stated William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics.

The expanded collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable, intelligent, and tech-driven mobility solutions worldwide.
