Egypt’s Remittances Hit Record USD 41.5 Billion in 2025

Remittances from Egyptians working abroad recorded unprecedented inflows in 2025, reaching an all-time high of USD 41.5 billion, according to official data. This marks a strong 40.5% increase compared to approximately USD 29.6 billion in 2024, reinforcing remittances as a key source of foreign currency for the Egyptian economy
During the first half (H1) of FY 2025/2026 (July–December 2025), remittance inflows rose by 29.6%, reaching nearly USD 22.1 billion, compared to USD 17.1 billion during the same period a year earlier

On a monthly basis, remittances climbed 24.0% in December 2025, recording around USD 4.0 billion — the highest monthly level ever — versus approximately USD 3.2 billion in December 2024
The sustained growth in remittance flows reflects improved foreign exchange dynamics and continued confidence among Egyptians abroad, further supporting macroeconomic stability and external liquidity buffers
